The Six Freedoms Kept From Black Folk’s Grasp

Being black in America is one hell of an experience that white people, definitely would not trade. Being black in America means automatically to be feared as “America’s Boogeyman”. Being black in America means that you will have to give your children, very unique “talks” (that no other race has to do) to keep them from getting lynched. Being black means that you are infinitely the “other” to the white person’s “self”.

I never seen any document that attempts to word out the lack of freedoms black people exist with. …

Screen Capture of the assault and abuse of 2LT Nazario

Second Lt. Caron Nazario, a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Medical Corps was in uniform driving to Petersburg, Virginia after a drill weekend. On December 5th, 2020, two police officers ordered him out of his his truck, at gunpoint, with their weapons aimed at his face.

This happened in December, 2020. We are only hearing about this now, in April, 2021.

Police popped their lights on him a mile away in the country rural dark — a scary scene for a Black man in the South. Too nervous to stop on a darkened road, Lieutenant Nazario, who is a Black-Latin…

Whoopi Goldberg, The Color Purple (1985) | Warner Bros. Pictures

Whoopi Goldberg (Caryn Elaine Johnson) was born in 1955. By the time 1985 came around, she was thirty years old. This is where we saw her in her breakout role as Celie in The Color Purple. She was thirty-five when she showed up as the eccentric psychic in the movie Ghost in 1990. She subsequently stole the show, making nuns cool in the movie Sister Act in 1992, which demanded a sequel which was released in 1993.

Long story short: rappers, athletes, and other Black celebrities were wrong in calling a 1980–1990s Whoopi Goldberg ugly. She was fine. Whoopi Goldberg…

Photo of me, Johnny Silvercloud, taken in 2020

I want to make this short.

Multiple Black writers on Medium have spoken on the fact that they are not getting the readership they once got. Some Black writers on Medium stated that their work is getting throttled (video game language for choked-out, diminishing returns).

I was never skeptical of their claims; I just couldn’t visualize it. After all, I started writing on Medium long after many of the folks I have seen complain. I couldn’t just gauge my own work, even though I did see a short drop in followership growth. …

Stop Asian Hate

There has always been an element of the Black Community who claim they are pro-Black, or Pan-African, who enjoys others’ plight, especially other nonwhite communities in America or abroad. I’ve for years seen numerous Black content creators endorse hatred of other nonwhite people. This thing needs to stop.

There are far too many Pro-Black content creators and personalities online who claim to be revolutionaries or leaders who have no fundamental strategic understanding of the battle-space.

You see, there are two parts to the sociopolitically aware Black Community. One side is the one aimed outward, looking at white supremacy. The other…

Actor Mehcad Brooks as “Shannon” in Fall From Grace (2020), produced, written and directed by Tyler Perry. Derrick Jaxn is literally a real life version of this bamma. I’m telling my kids this was Derrick Jaxn. | Credit: Tyler Perry Studios, Derrick Jaxn

Being an observer and participant in Black content creators since 2012, I have a lot of thoughts on Derrick Jaxn’s bullshit. Here’s a few.

1. Black men, stop celebrating

The first thing I noticed was this celebration in the Black community, mainly from Black men. Hey, um, brothers — stop celebrating this man getting caught or confessing. I know it’s annoying watching a fellow seem to be talking about you, dogging us out. Forgive me for feeling like he never was talking about me, but damn, if you felt like he was talking about you, or us as a collective, it is possible to keep…

Context

“I’ve lived my life being angry, which is what I was on Fox News…I was the angry, conservative, Black woman. And at that time in my life, it was who I was. I realized in 2016 that anger is unsustainable and it will destroy you. I made a lot of mistakes because of that anger.” ~ Stacey Dash, 2021.

Running from Problems you Created

In March 2021, by time of publishing, Stacey Dash is making a desperate attempt to repair her relationship with the Black Community of America. After years of actively weaponizing her Black skin against a full-spectrum Black people, ranging from Black politicians…

Workplace Stories

She was an older (50's), overweight white red-headed woman, southern, with a Texan accent. She, as a conservative white woman who is seated near me, a Black man, frequently tries to drop clues that she isn’t racist. I do not say anything, but I already know she is for racism, and white supremacy is a political alignment, and that’s where she is. It doesn’t matter how friendly she is to certain Black people like me; what matters is her political choices, whom she chooses to empower politically, and who their political champions harm or neglect by their policies. …

While I don’t want to reiterate the same solid points my writing peers have made, I do want to break word on Megan Markle’s situation concerning racism from the United Kingdom’s royalty. The format will be a similar to a series of essays, so bear with me.

Harry was Always a Different Thinker

I didn’t serve directly with Prince Harry in Afghanistan, but he was definitely in-theater at the same time I was there, but in a neighboring province (British were mostly in Helmand at the time). All us Soldiers knew back then that Prince Harry, while serving in the Armed Forces of nation as a…
