Medium is Definitely Suppressing Black Voices.

How on earth are there NO Black Voices on the Derek Chauvin Trial are on Medium’s Trending Six?

I want to make this short.

Multiple Black writers on Medium have spoken on the fact that they are not getting the readership they once got. Some Black writers on Medium stated that their work is getting throttled (video game language for choked-out, diminishing returns).

I was never skeptical of their claims; I just couldn’t visualize it. After all, I started writing on Medium long after many of the folks I have seen complain. I couldn’t just gauge my own work, even though I did see a short drop in followership growth. I just chalked it up to not being to write every day.

One thing that revealed this throttling of Black voices on Medium, with a hard preference for pushing tech nonsense, is Medium’s top trending six. I don’t know if that’s the name of it, but that’s what I’m calling it. And it doesn’t have crap on Derek’s Chauvin’s trial, despite the fact that numerous Black voices — Black writers — are writing their hearts out, bleeding through the pen on the subject.
