The Six Freedoms Kept From Black Folk’s Grasp

Being black in America is one hell of an experience that white people, definitely would not trade. Being black in America means automatically to be feared as “America’s Boogeyman”. Being black in America means that you will have to give your children, very unique “talks” (that no other race has to do) to keep them from getting lynched. Being black means that you are infinitely the “other” to the white person’s “self”.

I never seen any document that attempts to word out the lack of freedoms black people exist with. …

Koup Klux Clan

But the Streets Knew. Every Activist and Street Photojournalist Knew.

We All Knew They Were Coming and their Intent

The police of Washington D.C., known as the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), did a catastrophically horrible job protecting D.C. from fascists on December 12th, 2020. This would also lead to the atrocious job of protecting the Capitol from fascists on January 6th (I will admit that they were hindered systemically from doing their actual jobs). When I say fascists, I mean Proud Boys, III Percenters, and any of the adversarial Trump fanatics assisting them. You know, actual fascists.

Introduction

Hello there everyone! Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Johnny Silvercloud, the Vicious Abolitionist. The Downtown Defenestrator. The Analytical Ocular, Badass Photographer.

I’ll stop — just wanted to make a few smiles happen.

I’ve been doing photography since 2014, but probably been doing it in my head since I left high school; I just didn’t have the tools to document how I view things around me. I’ve been building my sense of artistic vision ever since. Everyone has sight; view have vision.

I’ve been writing online since 2012. The subjects I touch on might be similar to yours. Or not…

Military Sexism Offenders Need Accountability, Not More PowerPoint Slides

Re-training Offenders is Nonsense

I find SHARP “re-training” as a consequence to be especially repulsive. Here’s why: anyone who has been the army longer than a year has at a minimum been through ONE SHARP training (this is a fact) so to say “they didn’t know” is false and dismissive especially when it’s habitual. I think we (the Army) give offenders way too much credit.

They’re not stupid; they’re predators.

They know that their comments or behavior is wrong but they choose to do it anyway. I understand there are legalities but when the legalities get in the way of giving offenders proper punishment…

They are Actually Better Patriots than the Classic American Forefathers.

While many critics of America refuse the title of patriot, I would argue that they are. They all are patriots. Nothing is more patriotic than holding America accountable, in proper judgement, objectively. ~AfroSapiophile, July 4th, 2017

July 4th, 2021.

After spending two Independence Days in Washington D.C. as an embedded journalist, there’s a lot of assessments I like to get off my chest. Most of what I have to say will upset all sides. The right-wing, fascist, white supremacist conservatives will be upset because they for so long act like the identity of America belongs to them and them only…

Cinema Analysis

Thoughts on Vondie Curtis-Hall’s character in the 1993 action drama, Falling Down

Vondie Curtis-Hall in Falling Down (1993)

Falling Down

Falling Down is a 1993 action drama starring Michael Douglas as “D-Fens” — a seemingly ordinary man who begins to psychotically and violently spiral out of control when he comes across various issues varying from mundane annoyances to violent assaults. All problems were flaws of American society in 1993, but he does things his way. Robert Duvall is cast as the detective tracking his various violent crimes down, Det. Martin. Rachel Ticotin also stars but the subject I want to highlight here is Vondie Curtis-Hall’s character.

Let’s talk about why there’s an active boycott on Nellie’s, and why that place needs to be shut down

“I feel like, even just separating race from it, no man should ever handle a woman in that way. That should never be okay. ~ Keisha Young, the victim of a hair-pulling bouncer in Nellie’s

Early in June 2021, a bouncer in Nellie’s Sports Bar dragged a young black woman, Keisha Young, down a flight of stairs by her hair. Nellie’s Sports Bar is a popular gay bar occupying the corner of 900 U Street, Northwest Washington D.C. Keisha Young received multiple injuries and bruises from this violent act.

Keisha Young, a 24-year-old Morgan State Student, was out to celebrate…

Dear White People

Unless those white people stop silencing Black voices, read a book, and abolish conservative efforts to whitewash America’s populace.

Juneteenth is made a National Holiday

June 2021, President Joe Biden — the 46th President of the United States — signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law, making Juneteenth a national holiday recognized by the U.S. government.

Joe Biden, 46th President of the United States, declaring Juneteenth a national holiday on Twitter.

Needless to say, there’s a lot to process here.

First, is this a giant slap in the face to the state of Texas? Because the government of Texas was the one holding onto slavery the longest.

Texas was where General Order no. 3 was issued by Union General Gordon Granger on June…

Dear White Guys:

No Black Content Creator is listening to your passive aggressive asses, and no Black Content Creator ever will.

Dear white men

Dear complete and utterly butt-hurt, white supremacy-endorsing white men who show up in the comment’s section of my articles:

No one likes you. Not even your mom. And you smell.

But more to the point, no one is listening to your passive-aggressive asses in the comment’s section. No Black educational activist, journalist, or research writer is listening to you whine and complain.

The intelligent Black men similar to me writing think-pieces on racism and white supremacy are not bound to listen to your rants. Our intelligent Black women writing on these internet streets damn sure ain’t listening to your rants…

And how does this relate to White Supremacy?

Proud Boys use their white supremacy hand gesture, which is something often used with a very weak plausible deniability argument. The action of signaling white supremacy, in this case, is overt, but those committing the act think this is clandestine. Common parlance calls this “dog-whistling.” Washington, D.C. 12 Dec 2020 / Photo Credit: Johnny Silvercloud

Covert, Overt, and Clandestine Operations

It seems many people do not know the difference between these three. In this column, I’m going to attempt to make these three concepts easy to understand. I’m going to explain what they are, then give an example of a mission or program that fits, and then I’m going to explain why this is important to know concerning civil rights struggle, racism, and white supremacy.

The easiest way to determine the difference is to think of what the effects are and who is responsible for that mission or program that caused those effects.

Overt

The first one is easy; Overt means…
